Dear Parents,
Students went on a scavenger hunt to identify and make authentic connections of the different forms of communication around the school campus. Ms.Catherine from the office conveniently called for Ms. Debbie over the intercom speaker to come to the office, this helped students realized that the intercom is used at school to make announcements, and to worn of fire drills.
For the upcoming week, parents are requested to make their own communication timelines for students to present in class. You need to give a timeline of your communication history from birth to date. We have a couple of Field Trips lined up for the upcoming weeks to help our students with their inquiry journey of the unit.
In language, students have started writing descriptive essays. We discussed how voice is an important part of writing to help the reader see what the writer wants to convey. We had a writing session with Oranges were students had to incorporate their five senses into their writing. Students also wrote a reflection about International day were they also used their senses to add voice and detail to their writing.
ICT integration was ongoing this week as students continued to discover and create patterns for the Sphero to form squares and triangles, Some students were challenged when they had to follow a car track on our classroom carpet.
