This week students will continue their presentations on being a wellness expert. All presentations and reflections of the factors that contribute to well-being will be shared on seesaw for your viewing. Please encourage your child to continuously make good choices and take responsibility for their health.
Students discussed what a pattern is, where they have seen patterns before then created their own
patterns by using some classroom materials to do so. Students discovered some patterns on the hundreds chart and continued to apply their knowledge of patterns to solve number puzzles.
Students went on a scavenger hunt to find patterns around the school. see the pictures below.
This week our tech coach Mr. D integrated with our learning on patterns by sharing a lesson
on coding with students. During the lesson, students played a game that required them to
create patterns for their characters to be able to make a move.
This lesson helped them to make authentic connections to using patterns in our
everyday lives. E.g to operate your washing machine.
